CAPE TOWN MARITIME COLLEGE
SAMSA Accredited Maritime Study Programs

Navigation Programme - Classes Starting 21 Sept 2026

Cape Town Maritime College will be starting classes for Navigation students in September 2026 for the following: (i) Officer of the Watch [A-II/1] and (ii) Master (Unlimited) [A-II/2].

Cape Town Maritime College has recently opened a second venue in the same Foregate Square complex, which is to serve primarily as a Navigation studies venue; housing a chart room, a classroom, a computer room and a simulator venue.

Captain Blaise Morris has been appointed to head up the Navigation division. With decades of experience as a ships master, including experience on many classes of vessels within industry, he has a wealth of industry experience to share, as well as having years of experience as a maritime lecturer at a university.

Miss Leonie Louw will be joining Captain Morris to offer chart work subjects and the legal components. Miss Lowe is the primary Maritime law lecturer for seafarers in South Africa, and serves as Cape Town Maritime College's quality assurance officer.

The technical subjects, which form part of the navigation program bouquet, will be done by Chief Engineer Lambert, who holds a PhD in maritime education.
